Killara – has been booming of late – well, at least its home prices have been booming. Housing costs have skyrocketed in the past several years as this leafy suburb becomes increasingly popular with buyers. It’s even attracting interest from wealthy Chinese looking for Sydney real estate.
In return for the slower pace, you get beautiful homes on large properties, a neighbourhood safe enough that parents let their kids walk home from school, and great education options – there are two excellent primary schools here and a highly-rated high school. Killara has its golf club which also offers tennis, lawn bowling, and other activities.
Killara is bordered on the north by Gordon, on the east by East Killara, on the south by Lindfield, and on the west by Lane Cover River and West Pymble.
